                                                      Patriot's Point Campout - April 24-25, 2010

Patriots Point is in Charleston. It is the US Monument/Museum to Naval Aviation. It consists of the The Fighting Lady the WWII aircraft carrier USS YORKTOWN (CV-10), the WW II destroyer the USS LAFFEY (DD-724), the WW II submarine USS CLAMAGORE (SS-343), and the Coast Guard Cutter INGHAM (WHEC-35). There are also over 25 aircraft and helicopters on the museum grounds ranging from actual WW II aircraft to modern aircraft to include an F-14 Tomcat to various helicopters.

There is also a second tour as part of the package. This will most likely be the SC Aquarium and Charleston Landing.   As a bonus, the boys will also qualify for one or two Historical Trail Patches. The Historical Trail program is a visit/hike/learn educational program for Scouts designed to teach them United States History. Patriot’s Point and Charleston Landing together consist of a Historical Trail available in Charleston.

The ship provides berths to sleep in, showers and mandatory separate quarters for females. You will need to bring sleeping bag, pillow, blanket, change of clothes, personal toiletries. Entire Families are welcome.

Registration forms will be passed out at the Pack and we will be posting one the website as well.

Check back here soon for that.

We will be checking in at Patriot’s Point on Saturday AM, April 24th and departing sometime Sunday April 25th. We need to check in as a group at 9:00 AM so everyone will need to be there at that time. We may leave as a group from NMB at a time TBD. Meals are provided (lunch Saturday through breakfast Sunday) and there is of course a snack bar and machines. Bring lots of change or $1.00 bills for the snack machines.

Orders are "First Come, First Served" payments with the understanding that those Scouts who sold more than $400.00
have a guaranteed slot (along with 1 parent). We only have enough slots for 80 males and 20 females.

Be sure you read and understand the following:

1. I will need all reservations and money (parents/siblings cost of $60.00/person) by Monday, February 22nd

Checks should be made out to Cub Scout Pack 800.
2. Returned Registration Forms MUST be accompanied by all payments due.
3. A parent has to accompany a child.
4. We have to check in as a group at 9:00 AM on Saturday.
